Space Coast Classels Motorcyclists is an Independent Family Oriented motorcycling organization. We on the Space Coast are what is left of the Classels in Florida. There is a small group in Huntsville, AL, and another Thomasville, GA. Classels members own a cross segment of all makes and models of motorcycles. We are not affiliated with any other motorcycles organizations such as ABATE, HOG, GWRRA, etc., but many of our members do hold dual memberships in these and/or other motorcycling groups. The Classels are membership-run where all decisions are based on a majority vote of members present at our monthly business meetings. Classels "Colors" are issued free to new members and may only be worn on an unfrayed denim vest or jacket or a shirt with sleeves.
Monthly business meetings are generally held on the first Saturday of each month. Should the first Saturday of the month be either a holiday or conflicts with a major event, we try to reschedule the meeting to the second Saturday. Staff/planning meetings are held the Thursday prior to the monthly business meeting. The location of the planning meeting is posted in the Newsletter's calendar of events. All members are encouraged to bring ride ideas to the planning meeting.
As of January 2008, the Space Coast Classels have 46 six members. There are rides scheduled for almost each Saturday in every month. You are not obligated to go on each ride but rather to pick and choose your rides. We schedule a few rides on Sunday but we limit those to allow members to have time with their family and attend church. These Sunday rides are usually the Toy Run, held each December, and the Moving Wall Escort ride, held each April. These dates are published well in advance of the ride so no one gets caught by suprise and has time to plan ahead.
There are impromptu rides also. Members are encouraged to call a member or two and take a ride. If you do take an impromptu ride and it is a worthwhile destination, please share it with the rest of the Classels so we might schedule a ride for that place also.
